What is a Naturopathic Physician?

Naturopathic physicians are primary care health providers who are trained in the art, science, philosophy, and practice of natural medicine. Naturopathic physicians seek to restore and maintain optimum health in their patients by emphasizing the body’s inherent self-healing process.

Training and Licensure

Licensed naturopathic doctors (ND) are required to attain an undergraduate degree which includes pre-med courses after which, they attend a four-year accredited naturopathic medical school.  Naturopathic physicians are educated in all of the same basic medical sciences as a medical doctor and have equivalent class training in pharmacology. However, their curriculum also includes holistic therapies and training that places a strong emphasis on disease prevention. In addition to a standard medical curriculum, ND’s are required to complete additional training in clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine, and counseling.

Is Naturopathic Care Affordable?

Health and wellness are possible and it costs far less than you may imagine.  At a glance, it may appear that natural health care is more expensive than conventional care.  However, once you see the whole picture it is actually more affordable and often more effective than other treatment options.

Dr. Schulz’s intention of is to provide you with the appropriate therapies needed for a limited amount of time while you work together as a team to optimize your health.  After this time, you would ideally be free of any medications and/or supplements. Depending on your condition, this may or may not be possible.

Wellness through diet and lifestyle costs far less and is much more satisfying than maintaining prescriptions, endless lab work, and repeat doctor visits.
